  • Verify account balances
  • Confirm deposits and checks cleared.
  • View ATM, Point of Sale and Online transactions.
  • Receive your statement electronically
  • View your cleared checks
  • Transfer money between your credit union accounts.
  • Make loan payments on your credit union loans.
  • View account histories.
  • Retrieve year-end tax information.
  • Download statement information to personal financial software packages.
  • Obtain stock quotes and create a personal stock portfolio.

To sign up for CU Online, simply go to our website www.southernmass.com and click the Credit Union Online button located at the top of our home page.

Enter your member number and the last four digits of your Social Security number. Once set up, you will be prompted to choose a new Personal Identification Number (PIN) to replace your Social Security digits. Upon entering CU Online, just follow the prompts to view your account information.

Enhanced Login Security

This feature is free, easy, and most importantly, gives you extra protection from fraud and identity theft.

SMCU's Enhanced Login Security (ELS) identifies you as the true "owner" of your accounts. Not only will your password be recognized, but your computer will be recognized as well.

ELS strengthens security at login by providing an additional end user authentication factor beyond your user name and password. This is accomplished by requiring you to enroll the computer(s) you normally use to access Credit Union Online. Doing so helps protect you against someone who tries to hack into your account from another computer. If you attempt to access Credit Union Online from a computer you haven't enrolled, you will be prompted to provide another piece of information in order to gain temporary access. This process for gaining temporary access to Credit Union Online allows you to log in from computers you have not yet enrolled, or do not wish to enroll in ESL permanently such as public-access computers in a library or hotel. Challenge Questions will be the temporary access method our system will utilize to allow you to access your accounts online.

Once your Challenge Questions and Answers are set up, you can then enable the Enhanced Login Security feature from your Credit Union Online Account by activating it within the User Option menu. You may enroll as many computers as you wish.

Enhanced Login Security is just one more way to help prevent fraud, protect against identity theft, and strengthen your online security.

eAlerts

eAlerts allow you to be notified by email of certain items! This service within the CU Online system allows you to add, change or delete notifications for the following:

  • Account balance levels greater or less than a certain dollar amount.
  • Specific check number(s) that has cleared an account
  • A maturity date coming due on an account.

You must verify the email address where to send the eAlert(s). After you have set up at least one eAlert, you will see a summary screen which will display a brief summary of your current Alert(s). From this screen you will be able to add, edit or delete eAlerts.

To set up eAlerts, log into Credit Union Online and click the eAlert button and follow the prompts. You will then receive an email from smcu@attglobal.net to notify you when the alert occurs which you have set up. And remember, we will never ask for any personal information, PIN, Social Security Number, or require you to respond in any way to an email.
